Metro Averages 3 Wrecks Per Day
In 2009 alone, Metro buses were involved in over 1,000 collisions in Houston and surrounding areas, according to a recent Houston Chronicle article. Those collisions, many of which were considered largely preventable, often resulted in injuries to bus riders, other drivers and even pedestrians.

On May 22nd, 2010, two people suffered serious injuries following a hit-and-run on Highway 6 near Holloway Road in Santa Fe, Texas. While attempting to cross Highway 6, a Kia sedan struck an Acura and then fled down Holloway Road.
