Accident on 290 Claims Life of Driver After His Car Broke Down
According to the Houston Police Department, yesterday evening at approximately 6:40 p.m. one man was killed and another injured following an accident involving a disabled vehicle. The driver of a Nissan 240 SX pulled over on 290 near Fairbanks North Houston due to problems with his car. Another motorist pulled over to assist. As the two men peered under the hood of the disabled car, the driver of a Chevrolet Suburban abruptly changed lanes and struck the Nissan, ultimately pushing the vehicle into the two men. The driver of the Nissan died at the scene while the other man was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries.
