Drunk Driver Kills 2 Pedestrians, Attempts to Flee
According to the Houston Police Department, a recently engaged couple were attempting to cross the street on the evening of September 21st when they were mowed down by an intoxicated driver. The hit-and-run car accident occurred at White Heather and West Fuqua around 9:30 p.m as the driver ran a red light. The victims, a 23-year old man and his 22-year old fiance, were pronounced dead at the scene. After striking the couple, the driver immediately attempted to leave the scene and in doing so, drug the body of the female pedestrian some 50 yards before continuing on her way. The drunk driver was followed by a witness and was ultimately arrested. She has been charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
