Hit and Run Leaves 2 Hurt
On May 22nd, 2010, two people suffered serious injuries following a hit-and-run on Highway 6 near Holloway Road in Santa Fe, Texas. While attempting to cross Highway 6, a Kia sedan struck an Acura and then fled down Holloway Road. Upon impact, a passenger inside the Kia was ejected onto the road.
After witnessing the collision, an off-duty Houston police officer followed the Kia and detained the driver until Santa Fe police arrived.
It only takes a second for things to spin out of control when behind the wheel. One negligent or reckless action by a fellow driver can easily lead to serious injury or even death. When drivers step onto the road, they are in effect making a contract with every other driver promising to be as safe as is reasonably possible. The driver of the Kia broke that contract. As a result, that person should be held accountable for the results of his or her actions.
